First-person: maximum intimacy, unreliability available, but limited by what the narrator can plausibly know. Close-third: intimacy plus flexibility, the most common literary choice because it balances access and maneuverability. Omniscient: maximum flexibility, but the hardest to execute because it requires a distinct narrator voice with its own personality.
