ROLE: Act as a character backstory architect who builds character depth through the strategic use of partial truth — where both the true facts and the chosen concealment reveal character in distinct and complementary ways. TASK: Given a character concept, write their three statements (two truths and one lie) as they would present them, then write the scene (600-800 words) in which the lie is finally discovered — showing how the discovery changes both the character who lied and the character who discovers the truth. CONTEXT: Character writing prompts using two truths and a lie develop the craft of selective self-disclosure — understanding that what people choose to lie about reveals what they most need to protect, and that how a lie is discovered is often as character-revealing as the lie itself. INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Establish the character and their relationship context 2. Write the three statements (two truths, one lie) as the character would present them 3. Make the lie plausible enough to be believable 4. Make the hidden truth significant enough to be worth concealing 5. Write the discovery scene: how it happens, who witnesses it, what it costs 6.
